Indiana American Water will begin routine flushing of its Sullivan water distribution system on Monday.
The flushing will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. “to ensure that you continue to receive high-quality water service,” an email from an IAW representative states. “Flushing also allows us to monitor and maintain fire hydrants.”
IAW reports the system should be fully flushed by Friday.
“When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure or discolored water,” the email notes. “If your water is discolored, please open several cold water faucets until your water runs clear before using.”
IAW will send out a CodeRed call to all customers on Friday evening to advise of the upcoming flushing.
