Lady Arrows earn two wins to end regular season
Sullivan concluded the regular season by winning a high school girls golf match at the Sullivan Elks on Wednesday.
Sullivan (15-12) finished with a score of 228, Owen Valley shot 230 and Linton finished with a score of 237.
“It was a good win,” said Sullivan coach Justin Ridge. “We beat Linton and it is good to know can beat them going into the sectional.”
Individually for Sullivan, Gabby Burkhart had her best-round at the Elks with a 45.
Carsyn Wayland shot 60, Courtney Lueking 61, Bonnie Witt 62, Kolbi Mahurin 62, Cara Gofourth 68 and Annily Condon had a 70.
“Gabby shot a 42 earlier on another course. This is the best she has played here at the Elks,” said Ridge. “It was a good way to end her career at home.”
Sullivan will compete at the North Daviess Sectional on Saturday at the Country Club of Old Vincennes.
Tee time for the Lady Arrows will be at 9:50 a.m.
Burkhart, Wayland, Lueking, Witt and Gofourth will be the five golfers participating for Sullivan.
“We don’t really have a chance against Rivet and Lincoln and some of the better teams,” said Ridge. “We golf with Linton and Princeton, who teams we can compete with.
“I just want the girls to go and play well. We will have two seniors in Gabby and Carsyn and three freshmen.”
