North Central softball wins, baseball loses
Errors too much to
overcome by T-birds
Six errors led to six unearned runs, costing North Central in a 9-6 loss at Paris, Illinois on Friday in a high school baseball game.
North Central had leads of 2-0 and 5-3, finishing with 11 hits.
Blake Chatman had a double and triple and Cam Wanninger hit a home run.
Chatman drove in three runs and scored twice. Wanninger was 3-for-4 with one run and three RBIs.
Losing pitcher Cody Curtis had two hits and scored a run.
Jacob Pritchard, Isaac Bonacorsi, Kenny Jones and Chase Wiseley had the other hits for North Central.
Pritchard and Bonacorsi each scored one run.
Curtis allowed nine hits and three earned runs in his six innings of work. He fanned three and walked four.
He yielded two home runs.

Ladybirds top EGHS
North Central picked up a 10-1 victory over visiting Eastern Greene in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference softball game on Thursday.
It was the fifth win in seven games for the Ladybirds.
Kaelee Moody tossed the complete game for North Central, who evened its record at 1-1 in the SWIAC.
Moody allowed four hits and one earned run.
She struck out six and walked one.
Hannah Shroyer had a double for the winners, their only extra base hit. She finished 2-for-3 and scored twice.
Carlee Zellers was 2-for-2 and drove in one run. Morgan Manning also had two hits, scoring once and picking up three RBIs.
Moody helped her own cause with one hit, two runs and three RBIs.
Hailey Salyer had a hit and one RBI, Jocelyn Cox had a base hit and scored twice and Erika Shroyer had one hit and one RBI in two official at bats.
North Central will play at 5 p.m. today at Vincennes Lincoln.
