Sullivan loses 3-2
Bloomfield won a 3-2 decision over Sullivan in a high school girls tennis match on Thursday.
Sullivan dropped to 4-3 with the loss.
“We are still without Lydia Sharp, who has a sprained ankle,” said Sullivan coach Wes Kirk. “It came down to the match at two doubles as we lost in the tiebreaker to a senior duo from Bloomfield.
“Annie Smith and Sydney Greggs showed a lot of determination to come back from a set down. They actually were serving up 5-4 to win the match. This was the first time they have played together and this will be a great learning experience for them.”
Gabby Burkhart won the No. 1 singles, her sixth victory in seven matches.
Sullivan will play a makeup contest at 5 p.m. Monday at home against South Vermillion.
