Northview defeats Ladybirds

Elle Jackman limited North Central to three hits as visiting Northview defeated the Ladybirds 2-0 in the regular-season finale for both softball teams.
Jackman struck out seven and walked two.
For North Central (17-6), Madison Schofield had a double, while Hannah Shroyer and Hannah Simmons each had a base hit.
Losing pitcher Erika Shroyer allowed eight hits and two earned runs. She fanned five and issued no walks.
The Ladybirds will begin play at Class A Clay City Sectional at 6 p.m. today against Bloomfield.

Lady Arrows pick up 19th victory

The Sullivan High School softball team concluded the regular season with a 5-3 victory over visiting Riverton Parke on Friday.
The Lady Arrows (19-9) scored four runs in the fifth to erase a 3-1 deficit.
Sheyanna Ravellette had two hits and collected two RBIs as Sullivan finished with 10 hits.
Abbey Wardell was 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored.
Maclynne Steele had a hit and scored twice, Carly Brown doubled and scored a run, winning pitcher Mariah Wills had a double and scored a run, Sydnee Hester had a hit and RBI, Reagan Holeman was 1-for-3 and Asia Povlin added a base hit in four at bats.
Wills yielded five hits and three earned runs. She allowed a double and two home runs.
Wills struck out one and walked one.
The Lady Arrows start the postseason at 5:30 p.m. today against Brown County in the opening game of the Class 3A Edgewood Sectional 28.

Arrows edge Riverton Parke

Chris Taylor scattered six hits as he tossed a complete game, leading Sullivan to a 3-1 victory over visiting Riverton Parke in a high school baseball game at Sportland Field on Friday.
Taylor struck out 11 and did not issue a walk. The only run he allowed was unearned as Sullivan was credited with three errors.
On offense, Shane Garner tripled and doubled in three at bats, driving in one run and scoring another.
Jack Conner doubled and scored a run while Sam Steimel had a hit and knocked in one run.
Cam Walters and Kaleb Thrasher each had a hit and Walters scored a run.
Sullivan (21-6) will host North Central at 6 p.m. today as both teams conclude the regular season.
The Arrows will play Edgewood at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the opening game at Class 3A Owen Valley Sectional 28.

T-birds lose conference game

Shakamak scored 10 runs in the fourth inning as the Lakers cruised to a 19-1 victory over host North Central in a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference baseball game on Friday.
Cam Wanninger and Cody Curtis each had one hit for the Thunderbirds and Adam Orsburn contributed one hit and one RBI.
Blake Chatman scored the lone run for North Central.
Chase Wiseley was the starting and losing pitcher.
North Central (8-9, 2-5 in the SWIAC) committed eight errors.
Sullivan will host North Central at 6 p.m. today as both teams conclude the regular season.
The T-birds will open play at Class A Shakamak Sectional 57 at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday against White River Valley.
