Gofourth leads Lady Arrows
Cara Gofourth shot a season and career low to lead the Sullivan High School girls golf to a victory on Thursday.
At the Sullivan Elks Club, the Lady Arrows evened their record at 2-2 after a 240-246 win over Western Indiana Conference foe West Vigo.
Gofourth shot a 52 and was low medalist.
Courtney Lueking had a 57, Bonnie Witt shot 65 and Peyton Sisil had a 66.
“It was good to bounce back after the way we played at South Vermillion on Tuesday,” said Sullivan coach Justin Ridge. “Cara played really well and this is not an easy course.
“Cara was playing with new shoes. It must have been the shoes. Whatever it was, it was great to see her put together her best round so far in her career.”
He added overall that some of the girls did not shoot as well as they would have liked.
Sullivan will play at Vincennes Lincoln on Monday at the Country Club of Old Vincennes.
