Cops Cycling for Survivors are honoring fallen officers and their
families with a 13-day bicycle tour around Indiana. Terre Haute Police Officer Rob Pitts,
who passed away May 4, 2018, a Sullivan resident, was among those honored this year.
Cyclists went through Sullivan County Monday morning. The group
stopped at Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, at Pitts’ gravesite.
Members placed a flag at Pitts’ grave and spoke with family members
who had gathered for the event. Jeffrey Pitts, Rob’s cousin, was among
the riders. Cops Cycling for Survivors is a group of active officers
and civilian participant riders who raise awareness and actively
support law enforcement survivors through the annual bicycle tour
around the State of Indiana. The tour raises funds to be utilized to
assist survivors with emotional and financial support as defined by
the Cops Cycling for Survivors Foundation Board.
