Work on the fall seal coat operation near Graysville is ahead of schedule.

On Tuesday, Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews began a fall seal coat operation on SR 154 between SR 63 and the Wabash River at Hutsonville, Illinois.

During Tuesday’s operation, crews were able to put down all of the new driving surface and on Wednesday they were sweeping the roadway of loose aggregate.

Following Wednesday’s operation, the road will be open to all traffic. However, INDOT reminds the motoring public that the operation will not be complete until a fog seal coat is applied to the pavement and lines are painted on the road. Fog seal is scheduled for Monday with striping to follow.

Both of those operations will be done under lane restrictions. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
