Farmersburg man arrested on child molest allegations

A Farmersburg man has been arrested following an investigation into
sexual misconduct with a minor.

Robbie Baber, 45, of Farmersburg, was taken into custody by
Farmersburg Marshal Cody Strain, assisted by Deputy Marshal Daniel
Walls on Friday.

The investigation began when police and the Indiana Department of
Child Services were called to a residence in Farmersburg on Monday,
Jan. 4 regarding allegations of possible child molestation on a
5-year-old.

On Friday, Strain submitted his findings to Sullivan County Prosecutor
Ann Mischler. Shortly thereafter an arrest warrant was issued. Baber
was subsequently taken into custody without incident at a residence in
Terre Haute.

Baber was preliminarily charged with child molestation, a Level 4
felony, and child solicitation (under 14), a Level 5 felony. He is
remanded at the Sullivan County Jail on $35,000 cash bond.
