COVID-19 assistance available in Knox, Sullivan counties

Times staff report

Pace Community Action Agency, Inc. has received funding from the Knox
County Community Foundation to provide assistance for families that
have been impacted by the crisis caused by COVID-19.

Multiple agencies have identified that families are requesting
assistance with water and utility bills, technology expenses, health
careexpenses, etc. In an effort to address these needs, Pace will
begin accepting applications for assistance.

During this time, we know that many families are finding themselves in
a financially stressed situation. Dr. Proctor, Pace CEO, said, “We
will continue to promote our mission of improving the community and
encouraging self-reliance. These funds will be used to assist
individuals in meeting their needs. Nobody planned for this pandemic
to happen or thought it would continue to impact us for this length of
time. Pace is glad to be a trusted part of the community that can help
individuals during this time.” To request an application, call Pace at
(812) 882-7927.

This program is for residents of Knox County; although Pace also has
CARES ACT funding to assist families in Knox, Daviess, Greene and
Sullivan counties with COVID-19 related relief. Pace provides a
variety of programs for individuals and families in the community that
address energy, education and health issues. Review the webpage
www.pacecaa.org and social media sites for additional information.
