The Sullivan County Ag Day committee met in December to discuss the
potential of hosting the event in 2021.

But according to a news release, "Our committee has decided that with the
current status of COVID-19 in Indiana and the restrictions that are in
place, we would not be able to host Ag Day in 2021," Sullivan County Ag Day
Chairperson Travis McKinney said. "We plan to continue the Ag Day breakfast
tradition in 2022."

However, the committee decided to still offer the scholarship essay
competition to Sullivan County high school seniors. The topic for this
year's Ag Day essay will be "How has COVID-19 affected the agriculture
industry."

All essays are limited to 800 to 1,200 words with a deadline of March 1.
Winners will be recognized at a special presentation. Prizes will be
awarded upon entrance to college or vocational schools. First place will be
$1,000, second place $850 and third place $650.

Entrants must include cover sheet with name, address, phone number and
email. Entries are to be sent to Brooke Stefancik, 1361 East CR 75N,
Sullivan, IN 47882, or email to bstefan@purdue.edu. For more information,
call (812) 268-4332.
