Lady Bulldogs fall at Wood
On Friday, Wood Memorial pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge visiting Dugger Union 5-4 in a high school softball game.
The Lady Bulldogs fell behind 3-0, but tied the game at 4-all with a run in the seventh on an RBI-hit by Stormy Kinnard.
Madison Marlow tossed a complete game, taking the loss.
The right-hander struck out one.
Mollie Pitman finished with three hits and scored a run and Kaylee Ballard added two hits.
Mia Marlow contributed one hit and one run while Cassidy Ellis had one hit and two runs.
Kyndra Lantrip had one hit, one run and one RBI and Kaylee Williams collected one base hit and two RBIs.
“We had a few errors to start the first inning but came back strong with our bats and held strong in the field,” said Dugger Union first-year coach Amanda Parr. “We’ve see the things we need to work on this week in practice to improve both our defense and offense.”
The Lady Bulldogs (1-2) will host Cannelton in its first home game on Saturday.
