Arrows lose in Illinois
Sullivan fell behind 7-2 and never recovered as the Golden Arrows lost a 12-7 decision at East Richland in Olney, Illinois on Friday in a high school baseball game.
The Arrows dropped to 5-4 with the setback.
Max Mize was the starting and losing pitcher.
In 2 2/3 innings, he allowed six runs, all earned, and three hits. He walked six and fanned none.
Cam Walters yielded seven hits and five runs, three earned, in 2 1/3 innings. Walters struck out two and give up a walk.
Eli Steimel pitched the seventh inning, allowing one hit and one run. He walked one batter.
Karter Vernelson had two hits, one run and one RBI as Sullivan finished with 15 hits.
Kyle Vernelson collected three hits and also had one hit and one RBI.
Cooks, Foster, Steimel, Kaleb Thrasher and Jack Conner each added two hits.
Foster drove in two runs while Steimel, Walters and Thrasher each picked up an RBI.
Conner scored twice.
The Arrows will host North Putnam at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a Western Indiana Conference game at Sportland Field.
