Bulldogs drop two games


The Dugger Union baseball team lost a 7-1 decision to Evansville Christian on April 6 and 13-3 against Hutsonville, Illinois on April 10.
Against Evansville Christian, Jadyn Samm was the starting and losing pitcher.
In six innings, he struck out six and walked six. He allowed five hits and three runs.
Mason Boyd tossed the seventh inning. The senior walked five and fanned two.
He yielded one hit and four runs.
Offensively, Boyd walked three times and stole two bases.
Samm had two hits and one RBI and Brazen Maze was 1-for-3.
Against Hutsonville, Boyd started and threw three innings. He fanned three and walked seven.
The right-hander allowed eight runs and four hits.
Logan Miller threw 1 2/3 innings.
He walked seven and struck out two.
He gave up no hits and five runs.
Marlow pitched to one batter in the fifth as the Tigers scored on a passed ball to end the game via the 10-run rule.
Samm had two hits and one RBI and Blake Simpson collected two hits and scored a run.
Alex Babb was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Miller was credited with an RBI.
The Bulldogs will host Cannelton at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
