Sullivan edges Washington 2-1
Karter Vernelson’s solo home run in the fifth inning provided the margin of victory as Sullivan edged host Washington 2-1 on Wednesday in a high school baseball game.
Braedon Nichols was the starting and winning pitcher for the Golden Arrows, who improved to 15-8.

Sullivan went ahead in the first as Jack Conner reached on a infield single. While stealing second base, Alex Cooks reached on a throwing error, which allowed Conner to score.
Kyle Vernelson doubled in the third inning, but was stranded at third base.
Cooks also had a base hit in the sixth.
