The Sullivan High School girls soccer team lost a heartbreaking 2-1 decision in overtime to South Knox in the opening round of the Class A Sullivan Sectional. It was tied 0-0 at the half and 1-all at the end of regulation as Paige Chickadaunce scored on a rebound goal as Sullivan led 1-0. South Knox tied things with a corner kick. It was tied at 1-1 after two, seven-minute extra periods. The Lady Spartans won via penalty kicks. Gabby Wright was phenomenal in goal all night,” said Sullivan coach Kurt Hauger. “Our defense played great. We had several girls sick because they gave their all. Deb Smith, Payton Templeton and Paige all played well up front. The Lady Arrows finished the season with a 6-10-1 mark. Above, Smith, 21, lunges to get the ball away from a South Knox defender.
