Ladybirds dominate South Vermillion

Lilli-Gaines Schimmel and Makenzy Haviland each had career days to lead the North Central girls basketball team to a  81-38 victory over visiting South Vermillion

The Ladybirds improved to 9-7 while the Lady Wildcats fell to 2-10.

Haviland hit two 3-pointers and finished with a career-best 15 points. Gaines-Schimmel tallied a career-high 13 points for the Ladybirds, who led 31-7 after the first quarter and 56-16 at the half.

“We shot the ball very well in the first half,” said North Central coach Joey Davidson. 

Averi Davison made six 3-pointers and scored 22 points. Her school-record career scoring total now stands at 1,759 points.

Kimber Ladson made four triples and contributed 12 points. Ally Compton made five field goals and tallied 10 points.

North Central will host Sullivan on Tuesday, starting with the JV game at 6 p.m.
