Photo by B.J. HARGIS: Sullivan catcher Brooklyn Riley tries to come up with a foul ball in a win over Terre Haute North on Monday.

Kendall Edmondson tossed a shutout and the defense played errorless softball as host Sullivan defeated Terre Haute North 7-0 in a high school game on Monday.

Edmondson allowed just two hits as she tossed a complete game.

She walked four and fanned four. North never got a runner past second base.

On offense, Sullivan was credited with eight hits off of losing pitcher Victoria Elden.

“I thought Kendall did a great job and Brooklyn (Riley) did a great job behind the plate,” said Sullivan coach Lela Gilham. “Our defense really played well.

“This was a good win for us.”

Gilham liked the way the Lady Arrows swung the bat, but was hoping to score in more than two innings.

“We did a good job of scoring six runs in our last at bat,” she said. “But we need to be more consistent on offense and score in just two at bats.”

Avery Weitekamp was 1-for-3 and Klaire Williams contributed one run and one RBI. Kate Ridgway had two hits, one run and one RBI, Alexis Grindstaff had a double, scored one run and knocked in one.

Riley was 1-for-3 with an RBI, Edmondson doubled in the first run, finishing with two hits and one run, Gracie Shorter was walked three times and scored two runs and Avery Wiltermood doubled and knocked in two runs in the sixth.

“We played a complete game tonight,” said Earley. “Our outfield was really clicking.”

The Lady Arrows (2-1) will play at WRV at  5 p.m. Wednesday before competing in the Terre Haute Braves Bash on Friday and Saturday.
