SHS boys track win at Linton
Sullivan, North Daviess and Bloomfield competed in a boys and girls track and field meet at Linton on Thursday night.
In the boys meet, Sullivan won with 96.5 points, Linton had 58, Bloomfeld 48 and North Daviess 40.5.
Sullivan’s William Newby and Caleb Hughes each ran 1-2 in the 100 and 200 meters.
Jaeden King was third in the 200 and Jorden King was fifth.
Newby also won the long jump with an effort of 17 feet, just ahead of Hughes, who went 16-8 ½.
The Arrows won the 3,200 relay with a time of 9:23.9, the 400 relay at 45.8 and the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:50.
Tristan Drake won the discus at 119-2 ½ and was third in the shot put at 41-2.
Grant Bell won the pole vault at 12-0 with Jack Stewart second at 10-0.
Dossan Lamb ran 4:46.8 to win the 1,600 with Tim Lueking running third.
Chase Catlin was fifth in the high jump (5-0), Finn Steele was fifth in the 400, Will King was second in the 800 (2:13.8) with Paul Lueking and Tim Lueking running 3-4 and Ty Thompson placed fourth in the 3,200.
In the girls competition, Linton won with 141 points. North Daviess had 55, Sullivan was third with 28 and Bloomfield had 18.
Callie Curtis was third in the long jump at 12-1 ½, third in the high hurdles at 19.2 and third in the 300 low hurdles.
Elly Hamilton was third in the 200.
Kennedy Ridge cleared 7-0 to go third in the pole vault, Madison Elliott took fifth in the 100 (15.4) and fourth in the 200, Madi Deckard and Bonnie Witt went 4-5 in the 1,600, Deckard was fourth in the 800 and Kennedy Wagaman took fourth in the 400.
Sullivan was third in the 400 relay and 1,600 relay.
