Lady Arrows still unbeaten in WIC
The Sullivan softball team remained perfect in the Western Indiana Conference after a 26-1 thrashing of visiting Brown County on Friday night. The game was halted after five innings via the 10-run rule.
It was the 12th win in a row for the Lady Arrows, who improved to 16-3 and 5-0 in the WIC.
Kendal Edmondson tossed a one-hitter. She allowed one earned run while striking out seven and issuing no walks.
Eleven of the 13 Sullivan girls contributed statistically.
Brooklyn Riley hit a home run and drove in six runs. She also scored twice.
Delainey Shorter had five RBIs, four runs and three hits, including double and triple.
Avery Wiltermood had a double among her four hits to go with five runs scored and two RBIs.
Alexis Grindstaff and Gracie Shorter each had three hits. Grindstaff also had a double, four runs scored and one RBI and Shorter scored three times and knocked in one run.
Edmondson had two singles and three RBIs, Jocey Wible and Kate Ridgway both tallied two hits, two runs and one RBI, Klaire Williams has a base hit and one RBI, Caylee Shorter contributed two RBIs, one hit and one run and Avery Weitekamp scored three runs.
Sullivan will play another WIC contest at Northview on Tuesday, starting at 5:30 p.m.
